Are you suffering from excessive underarm sweating? The Aesthetic & Vein Center MD now offers Precision Tx, a one-time, one to two hour, minimally invasive laser procedure to help control excessive sweating. With minimal downtime and noticeable results in over 80% of cases, patients are highly satisfied with the Precision Tx procedure.
What is hyperhidrosis?
Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition where people perspire beyond what is considered normal or acceptable, and can be uncomfortable and embarrassing. One of the most common areas of the body where hyperhidrosis occurs is the underarms. Most people sweat when they exercise, are anxious or under stress, and are in very hot climates. While perspiration is essential for cooling and maintaining a healthy body temperature, hyperhidrosis is unusual, excessive or persistent sweating, occurring even when the body is at rest.
How does the Precision Tx procedure work?
The Precision Tx procedure is performed in the comfort of your doctor’s office with cutting-edge laser technology that delivers the laser energy underneath the skin, into the axillary (underarm) sweat glands to safely ablate them. The procedure is done under local anesthesia. Through a small incision, a cannula (a very fine tube with a smooth blunt tip) is inserted under the skin and thermally controlled laser energy is delivered directly to the glands.
What does the procedure feel like?
Like any other minimally invasive procedure, you may feel slight pressure during the procedure and some soreness afterwards, which will resolve rapidly. You will be able to return to your normal activities within a few days.
How long does the Precision Tx procedure for hyperhidrosis take?
The procedure takes between one and two hours and is performed in your doctor’s office.
How often does the procedure need to be repeated?
Precision Tx is a one-time procedure.
How much does the procedure cost?
Precision Tx is a very precise and individualized laser procedure, and the price varies depending on the size of the treatment area (typically around $2500). Dr. Miller would like to see you in consultation before we can provide an accurate quote.
